Diamondhead Police Department Personnel Honored

March 4, 2016

pdawards2Sheriff Ricky Adam honored law enforcement personnel for courageous and heroic acts of service at the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Award Ceremony held on March 2nd.  Among those honored were Diamondhead Police Department Sgt. Darrell Hughes. Sgt. Hughes received the Sheriff’s Star Ribbon for his selfless acts of bravery that ended a high speed chase and led to the apprehension of three people accused of strong armed robbery in Long Beach on April 26, 2015.  Officers Ronald Cobb and Michael Riggs both received the Life Saving Ribbon for their quick action to rescue and administer assistance that saved a person’s life.   Each and every day law enforcement are faced with many challenges unique to their profession.  A ceremony to honor and acknowledge law enforcement achievements serves as testament to the bravery and commitment displayed by not only Diamondhead’s Hughes, Cobb and Riggs but to all who sacrifice unselfishly to serve and protect.  Congratulations Sergeant Hughes, Officer Cobb, Officer Riggs and all law enforcement receiving recognition at the recent, well-deserved, award ceremony! We salute you all and are proud to call you our neighbor and friend.
