Mayor Schafer in Serious Condition After Surgery Complications

On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, Mayor Thomas “Tommy” E. Schafer IV had a scheduled surgery.  On Wednesday, Camille Schafer, his wife, notified us that during the surgery there were some complications and that Tommy is in serious condition.  She noted that this is a personal matter, and she requested everyone to respect the privacy of their family.  Camille asked everyone to please keep Tommy in their prayers for his speedy recovery.

As the family provides more information, we will work to keep our community informed about Tommy’s condition.  There will be no further statement from City Hall until we receive information from the family.
