Land to Water to Sea: The Gulf Partnership

Rotten Bayou Blueway

Land to Water to Sea:  The Gulf Partnership recently released three short films and fact sheets showing the connections between land conservation in the coastal region and the health of the waters downstream.  These films focus on coastal Mississippi but the messages are applicable across the Gulf Coast region. The Mississippi Sound is continually affected by the decisions that landowners and community members make every day.  It isn’t always easy to see the connections between farming practices 50 miles upstream and the health of the oysters beds.  It can be hard to see how the development of a new neighborhood in the northern reaches of the county can hurt water quality at the beach.
