City Continues to Have Great Success with Receiving Grants for Projects

One of the benefits of incorporation for Diamondhead was the ability to receive grants for projects. The City administration works hard to identify grant funding sources that match the goals of the City Council.  This allows the City to leverage local dollars to maximize the impact for our residents.  The City has been very successful in this effort thanks to the help of Senator Moran and Representative McKnight at the State Legislature.

In the last 8 years, the City of Diamondhead has been awarded $12.8 million in grants for projects.  The City had to commit local matching funds of only $2.8 million.  For several grants, there is no local match requirement.  Grants have funded projects like the new Veterans Road, kayak launches, drainage projects, walking trails and the public infrastructure for the new Town Center.  Grant-funded projects make living in Diamondhead more enjoyable for the residents.
