Overall, the City of Diamondhead faired very well for the Hurricane and there was very little damage. Some streets were closed due to flooding from storm surge and rainfall. Most of these roads were reopened this morning. Public works has driven all streets and removed any trees or other obstructions from the roadway to allow traffic to flow. Residents are asked to put any trash on the side of the road in the right of way. Please do not put any debris in the roads.
If you have personal damage to your home or property, please email the City Manager to report this to mreso@diamondhead.ms.gov. We want to be able to report this to MEMA.
The Sheriff has extended the curfew in Hancock county, including Diamondhead and other cities, until 6pm today.
