Improvements for East Aloha Drive

The City Council recently approved the sketch plan for improvements to East Aloha Drive in Diamondhead.  Jason Chinichi is serving as the engineer on this project.  The goal is to make improvements to add sidewalks, bike lanes, landscaping, decorative street lighting and pedestian crosswalks.  The city has received a grant from MDA for $150,000 to help fund phase I of this project.  The city will provide a 20% local match for the grant.  The city has also applied for another grant with the Gulf Regional Planning Commission to fund Phase II of the project.  

The city is finalizing all right of way acquisitions with property owners and finalizing the construction documents. The city hopes to advertise for bids on this project in the next few months.
