DIAMONDHEAD OFFICIALS ADVOCATE FOR PROJECTS WITH STATE LEADERS IN JACKSON
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Diamondhead, Miss. Mar. 23, 2021 - Mayor Nancy Depreo, Councilmen Alan Moran and Chuck Clark and City Manager Mike Reso joined leaders from all over Hancock County on a trip to Jackson to meet with legislators this week. The purpose of the trip was to continue to advocate for City projects that are designed to improve quality of life and to prepare Diamondhead for future growth and development.
“Diamondhead is an investors dream, and we are open for business," said Mayor Nancy Depreo. "Our new commercial is an open canvas, ready to be developed with exciting mixed-use developments. Our existing commercial access road is being transformed to allow easy access by golf carts with updated lighting, sidewalks, and landscaping to create a high-end shopping experience. Residential growth is at all time high, with some of the best homebuilders on the Coast providing new quality construction to fit all your needs. Whether you are looking to invest or move to a place where living is easy, we are ready and waiting for you.”
Diamondhead has multiple projects in various stages of completion at the moment, including a streetscape overhaul for East Aloha Drive, numerous drainage improvement projects, a new town center on the west side of Gex Drive and a dog park that will rival New York City’s Central Park it includes so many amenities. Many of the projects the City is currently undertaking will require financial and legislative support from different levels of government, and City leaders are determined to leave no stone unturned.
“So far, we’ve been met with nothing but enthusiasm from Hancock County and our State delegation,” Mayor Depreo added. “We’re truly grateful to have such a good working relationship with our counterparts, especially Senator Philip Moran and State Representatives Jay McKnight and Brent Anderson, who have all been such strong advocates for us.”
“Coming up with the plans and the vision is the exciting part of economic development, but making sure the City is prepared for future growth is where the rubber meets the road,” said City Manager Mike Reso. “Our staff and Council are working hard to make sure that we will have the infrastructure, utilities and funding in place not only to attract but also retain future residents and businesses who choose Diamondhead.”
