Proposed Montjoy Creek Kayak Launch

The City has developed a master plan to provide more access to Rotten Bayou Blueway for our community.  This plan includes adding a grass nature trail along part of Montjoy Creek.  Then, grass trail will turn into an elevated walkway throught the wetlands that will lead to a fishing pier and nature observatory at Devil's Elbow in Rotten Bayou.  There will be a parking area at the end of Banyan Place.  This is where the kayak launch will be located.  

The plan also provides for several sediment traps in the creek to prevent erosion.  This project is funded with Tidelands Grants and Transportation Alternative Grant with Gulf Regional Planning Commission.
